A groom dresses up like Mike Ditka for his wedding — just like his bachelor party

CHICAGO — After earning some fame from his Bears-themed bachelor party in 2022, a Chicago-area resident repeated the theme on his wedding day. Lincoln Park resident Jake Mazanke was married on Saturday, and like he famously did last November, donned a Mike Ditka outfit for part of the reception. Both were signatures of Ditka's gameday outfit when he was head coach of the Bears from 1982-1992, including the Super Bowl XX win over the Patriots in January 1986. Their time in the Ditka gear included the groomsmen taking part in a choreographed dance to "Bear Down, Chicago Bears." City of Austin shortens splash pad hours due to drought

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The City of Austin on Monday announced it would be shortening the hours for most splash pads for the rest of the season to conserve water amid the ongoing drought. The city's parks and recreation department said in a release, "In an effort to balance the public's need to access water with water conservation, the Aquatic Division of the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is modifying splash hours for the remainder of the Splash Pad Season (through October 31)." City of Austin to waive fees at most pools through Sept. 30 All city splash pads except Liz Carpenter and Pease Park will operate under the following hours:Monday-Friday: 3-8 p.m.Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.New hours begin immediately. Liz Carpenter and Pease Park splash pads will operate on their regular schedules. A full list of splash pads and pools and their schedules can be found online.

Riff Raff will be joined for the concert by special guests Dollabillgates and Camtron5000. The Aviation Mall is once again hosting a shredding event on Saturday, Sept. 16, and inviting all to bring their stuff. Get the latest news, weather, and sports delivered right to your inbox! Those looking to take part in shredding can arrive at the mall's front east parking lot (in front of the food court) from 9 to 11 a.m. Any documents will do, including junk mail, tax returns, checks, files, folders, and personal information of just about any kind. FORT COLLINS — In his biggest game as CSU Rams coach, Jay Norvell just made his biggest call.Norvell announced Monday morning that Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi will start for the Rams at quarterback at against No. 18 CU in the Rocky Mountain Showdown at Folsom Field.“I just felt like the timing was right for Brayden to get that opportunity,” said Norvell, who brought Fowler-Nicolosti in to replace Clay Millen in a 50-24 season-opening loss to Washington State two weeks ago. “I’m not blaming Clay, by any means.”Fowler-Nicolosi started CSU’s win at Nevada last year while Millen was recovering from an injury. Wyatts Towing committed no violations when it towed Colorado state senator’s car, PUC finds

Colorado’s Public Utilities Commission found Wyatts Towing committed no violations when it towed the car of a state senator last month.The PUC, which regulates Colorado’s towing industry, told Wyatts in an email Friday that it had closed Sen. Julie Gonzales‘ case.Gonzales, a Denver Democrat, garnered widespread attention last month when she outlined her frustrating experience with Colorado’s largest towing operator. The legislator, who helped write Colorado’s “Towing Bill of Rights” law last year, said she parked for a few hours in a north Denver parking lot connected to a mixed-use development.
