Good news, foodies: The Michelin Guide has identified 10 Southern California restaurants that will be honored at next month's Michelin Guide Ceremony.The celebrated spots include four restaurants in Los Angeles, three in Orange County, two in Santa Monica and one in San Diego, the Michelin Guide said in a news release. SAN JOSE — Several hundred homes could rise at the site of a shuttered casino and hofbrau in San Jose, a proposal that represents the latest attempt to craft a viable plan to redevelop the prime location.The proposed development is being eyed at a 10.3-acre location near the corner of Saratoga Avenue and Kiely Boulevard in San Jose, according to documents on file with city planners.The potential development site is the location of the now-closed Garden City Casino, a long-time gambling center; Harry’s Hofbrau, a popular restaurant; and other businesses.The San Jose site has addresses of 360 and 400 Saratoga Avenue, the city documents show.The structures on the property would be bulldozed to clear the way for the anticipated development.About 1,000 residential units would be built on the property, according to what is described as a preliminary proposal that’s being floated at San Jose City Hall.Boarded up site of the former Harry’s Hofbrau on Saratoga Avenue ...

South Bay violent crime spree: Authorities identify three people killed last week

SAN JOSE — Less than a week after the violent South Bay crime spree that left three dead and several others injured on Thursday, the three deceased victims have been identified.The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the victims Tuesday morning. They are Nguyen Pham, 72, of San Jose; Phuc Pham, 71, of San Jose; and Jiwanjot Dhariwal, 26, of Milpitas,Authorities said a 31-year-old San Jose man committed multiple stabbings, carjackings and vehicular assaults during the rampage, which began just after 3 p.m. Friday in San Jose. (KRON) -- Former Bay Area news anchor Frank Somerville was arrested twice in the East Bay overnight for alcohol-related charges, the Berkeley Police Department has confirmed to KRON4. Gunman opens fire on Oakland carjackers The first arrest came after police were called to respond to a family altercation on Indian Rock Avenue. The home is owned by Somerville's brother, BPD said. Police were told that a man at the residence was being detained after a fight. The man being detained was later identified as Somerville, and police determined he was intoxicated at the time. Police said the family asked Somerville to leave and he refused, and that's when he allegedly threatened a victim at the scene, which then led to the fight. Both parties suffered non-life threatening injuries, and the victim had a contusion on his right cheek, BPD said. DENVER (KDVR) — Police are investigating a deadly road rage shooting that killed a 48-year-old man.Aurora Police responded to a call about a shooting in the Dayton Triangle neighborhood near South Havana Street and East Idaho Place just before 10 p.m. Monday night.
