March housing data for the seven-county Denver metro area and across Colorado may signal a return to more normal market conditions since the onset of the pandemic, according to the monthly Market Trends Housing Report from the Colorado Association of Realtors.“Median sales prices are down, days on market have skyrocketed, and homes are back to selling below asking prices on average,” said Cooper Thayer, a CAR spokesperson and realtor with Keller Williams Action Realty.“However, it’s important to remember that the last few years were an anomaly, and we are currently in an arguably healthier market than before. One person is hospitalized after being shot in the head on Hollywood Boulevard Friday night.Police responded to reports of a shooting at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue around 7:37 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.When officers arrived, a male victim was found with a gunshot wound to his head, authorities said. The third suspect allegedly involved in the murder of a Chino man was arrested on Friday.The suspect in custody was identified as Manuel Malgra, a 45-year-old Chino resident, by the Chino Police Department.Malgra is believed to be involved in the murder of Philip Hernandez, 51, after police found his body on the 5400 block of Philadelphia Avenue with gunshot wounds on April 2.Detectives later identified three suspects allegedly involved in Hernandez’s death. ANTIOCH – Contra Costa’s top public defender is calling on the district attorney’s office to release the names of more than 40 Antioch Police Department officers who exchanged or received racist and homophobic text messages, as well as to dismiss any public defender cases involving the embattled law enforcement agency.In a letter Friday, Public Defender Ellen McDonnell told District Attorney Diana Becton she had received two redacted investigative reports — which were also obtained by this news organization — written by Becton’s senior inspector, Larry Wallace. The reports, McDonnell wrote in the letter, revealed a “deeply entrenched, department-wide culture of racism, homophobia, targeted violence against Black people, selective enforcement of laws against Black people, fabrication of evidence and utter disregard of civil and human rights.”According to McDonnell’s letter, at least 16 of the 45 involved officers hold leadership roles in the police department. A Leesburg, Virginia, man who was accused of killing an Ashburn woman and then fleeing to Dubai in 2021 has been convicted.A Loudoun County jury found Furqan Syed, who was 40-years-old at the time of his arrest in March 2022, guilty on Friday of first-degree murder, statutory burglary and a felony weapons charge in the killing of 57-year-old Najat Chemlali Goode.Goode was found inside her home on Connie Marie Terrace on Dec. 30, 2021, with three gunshot wounds, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
