BOSTON (AP) — The Philadelphia 76ers were without reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid and guard Tyrese Maxey, their top two scorers, for Friday night’s game against the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics.Both players were listed as having an illness. Nicolas Batum (finger), Kelly Oubre Jr. (rib) and Danuel House Jr. (sore leg) were also out.Embiid, who is averaging 32 points and 11 rebounds per game, missed a game at Minnesota last week as well as Wednesday’s game at New Orleans. D.C. traffic deaths have reached a high and somber mark, one not seen in more than 15 years.First reported by Axios, 45 people have died in traffic crashes — from pedestrians, drivers and passengers to motorcyclists, bicyclists and scooter riders — according to the most recent numbers by Vision Zero. Those numbers are the highest since 2007 when there were 54 traffic fatalities, according to D.C. police.Vision Zero is an initiative by Mayor Muriel Bowser that launched in 2015, which aims to improve safety and decrease traffic fatalities on District streets. The year the program launched, there were 26 traffic fatalities. The original goal hoped to have zero traffic deaths by 2024. School bus crashes with semi truck in Morgan County

DENVER (KDVR) — A school bus crashed with a semi truck Friday afternoon in Morgan County.The call was reported around 4:30 p.m. at County Road 20 along County Road T, according to Colorado State Patrol. A shocking smash was recently caught on camera in East Boston, with surveillance video showing people smashing through a door before also smashing display cases at a local business. The break-in happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
