Eight Republican activists who falsely claimed to be legitimate presidential electors for Donald Trump have accepted immunity deals from the Atlanta-area district attorney investigating Trump’s bid to subvert the 2020 election.Kimberly Debrow, a lawyer for the false electors, revealed the arrangement — reached last month — in a court filing Friday, opposing a bid by District Attorney Fani Willis to disqualify her from representing the large group. It’s the latest indication of Willis’ advancing investigation, which she recently revealed could result in charges — possibly against Trump himself and a slew of high-profile allies — as soon as July.Trump and his inner circle orchestrated a plan for GOP electors in seven states he lost to sign documents claiming to be legitimate presidential electors. Those false electors became a component in a desperate last-ditch bid by Trump to overturn the election on Jan. 6, 2021. DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran executed an Iranian-Swedish dual national Saturday accused of masterminding a 2018 attack on a military parade that killed at least 25 people, one of several enemies of Tehran seized abroad in recent years amid tensions with the West.Farajollah Cha’ab, also known as Habib Asyoud, had been a leader of the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz, an Arab separatist movement that has conducted oil pipeline bombings and other attacks in Iran’s oil-rich Khuzestan province. That group had claimed the 2018 attack in its immediate aftermath. Cha’ab’s execution comes as a Swedish court last year sentenced an Iranian to life in prison over his part in the 1988 mass executions in Iran at the end of its war with Iraq. Tehran, which has used prisoners as bargaining chips in negotiations with the West, reacted angrily to that sentence. Meanwhile, tensions also remain high between Iran and the West over its rapidly advancing nucl...WATCH LIVE: The coronation of King Charles III

DEAR MISS MANNERS: My wife and I were invited to a dinner party by a childhood friend of mine, whom we have seen occasionally over the past 50 years. At dinner, the host pulled me aside and asked about my political views, to which I responded, “I believe my views will differ from your own. We don’t see each other often, so let’s just enjoy the evening.”He kept pushing, and I gave him my full opinion. He then asked what my wife’s views were. I responded by saying, “Pretty much like my own.” The host just exploded, freaking out, etc. Before returning to the group, I again requested we just put our views aside and enjoy the evening. The host then entered the kitchen, where my wife was assisting his wife, and asked her if she supports the same political party as me. My wife responded, “Yes!”My wife and I stayed through dinner. Three days later, we sent a respectful thank-you card. How should we have reacted to this attack, both in the ...Latest news
