LOS ANGELES (AP) — An armed man accused of impersonating a federal officer was taken into custody outside a Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign event in Los Angeles.A Los Angeles Police Department statement said police received a call Friday afternoon that a man with a loaded gun and holster and wearing a U.S. Marshals Service badge was outside a theater where the Democratic presidential candidate was scheduled to give a speech. A campaign statement said Kennedy’s security team surrounded the man, who later was taken into custody by the LAPD. The FBI also was on the scene. No one was injured. “The man claimed to be part of Kennedy’s security team,” the campaign statement said. ST. LOUIS - Eyes on the skies Saturday! It was a busy day in St. Louis as the Great Forest Park Balloon Race returned for another year of stunning sights and friendly competition.Dozens of crews signed up for this year's balloon race, but not everyone made it up in the air. Crews had to deal with some small sprinkles and mild wind gusts throughout the day. With storms expected in the St. Louis metro later Saturday, some played it safe and didn't take off from ground. For those who made it up, they had the opportunity to participate in a hare-and-hound race setup. One balloon crew made a target and competing crews tried to come closest to the target to ultimately win the race. Some balloons made it up in the air, while others stayed on ground and gave fans a close look. After the run, attendees can enjoy vendors, music, and family fun. A former taekwondo instructor who taught in Aurora and Douglas County has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of the sexual exploitation of a child.Erik Chen, 32, was charged in July 2022 after children reported him for recording them in restrooms and changing rooms and police found CDs and DVDs with “hundreds of thousands of images of child pornography depicting girls believed to be between the ages of 8 and 12,” according to a news release from the 18th Judicial District.Chen ran summer camps at Han Lee’s Taekwondo Academy in Aurora and Lone Tree, and victims reported him recording them at recreation centers in Castle Rock and Lone Tree.Chen pleaded guilty in March to the three charges.“This defendant preyed on innocent, young children who trusted him as a camp leader,” Zoe Laird, senior deputy district attorney, said in the new release. “I hope this sentence provides some sense of closure for his victims and at a minimum it...
