BALTIMORE (AP) — A former Maryland political aide wanted on corruption charges died Monday after he was wounded while being confronted by law enforcement agents, his lawyer said, following a manhunt that was launched when the man failed to appear for trial. Attorney Joseph Murtha said the FBI confirmed Roy McGrath’s death to him. He added that it was not immediately clear if McGrath’s wound was self-inflicted or came during an exchange of gunfire with agents. The FBI had said earlier that McGrath, once a top aide to a former Maryland governor, had been hospitalized following an agent-involved shooting, but declined to elaborate. William Brennan, an attorney for McGrath’s wife, Laura Bruner, also confirmed the death and said she was “absolutely distraught.” According to an email earlier from FBI Supervisory Special Agent Shayne Buchwald in Maryland, McGrath was wounded during “an agent-involved shooting” around 6:30 p.m. in a commercial area on the southwestern outskirts ...Fire races through clothing market in Bangladesh capital

Forecasters are monitoring

An atmospheric "WILD CARD" Tuesday afternoon and evening is the presence of a layer of warm air aloft—what's known as a "cap." The extent of severe storm development Friday afternoon and evening may be impacted. "Caps" have been known to thwart storm formation. But if storms later Tuesday can "break" the cap, the atmospheric is primed for additional vigorous t-storm development.GOES EAST satellite view of Monday’s storm systemGOES 18 western viewHere’s the jet stream into which thunderstorms will ascent late Tuesday. On Monday, NASA unveiled the first crew of astronauts that will travel to the moon since 1972. Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch of NASA will travel together with Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) on a trip around the moon, potentially reaching the farthest point any human has flown into space. As part of a mission called Artemis II, the quartet of astronauts will follow a similar path in their Orion spacecraft that an unoccupied capsule took last fall when Orion and NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) blasted off on an inaugural test flight. The mission will last approximately 10 days, during which the crew will not land on the moon, but instead follow a trajectory that allows Orion and its European-built service module to conduct multiple maneuvers that will raise and lower its orbit throughout the mission, with the craft ultimately relying on Earth's gravity to pull the astronauts home after they fly around the moon. Not much went right for the Wild on Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. Not only did the Wild (44-23-10, 98 points) suffer a 4-3 shootout loss to the Golden Knights (48-22-7, 103 points), dropping them five points back with five games to go, they also fell the second place in the Central Division because the Dallas Stars (42-21-14, 98 points) hold the tiebreaker. The good news for the Wild? They managed to clinch a playoff berth. Asked about accomplishing that goal, coach Dean Evason responded, “Listen, that’s our first step, right?”Indeed. In that same breath, Evason mentioned how he was pleased with how the Wild responded after dropping what they felt was a winnable game to the Golden Knights on the road 48 hours earlier. That feeling resonated throughout the locker room postgame despite the shootout loss.“Those are the good games to be involved in,” Brandon Duhaime said. “We didn’t do a good job in Vegas of making it hard on them and tonight we ...Fire breaks out at Troy laundromat
