LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. - By the age of fourteen, Andy Crump decided he wanted to be a firefighter. With encouragement from his uncle, also a firefighter, and his family, he joined the Fire Explorers program in Hazelwood and graduated from high school with his sights set to complete both the Fire Academy and Paramedic’s Academy while volunteering with several medical facilities. He and his wife met in high school, and she became a dispatcher for a while. He was a hospital paramedic for a few years.Today, Andy works 48-hour shifts for the Lincoln County Fire Protection District, which covers 136 square miles. He was once part of a 3-man team, which meant early on that each shift was responding to about 20 calls per rotation. Today, they have doubled the size in Lincoln County to two firehouses. ST. LOUIS - Emergency crews are responding to a south St. Louis City business break-in Tuesday morning. Our Nissan Rogue Runner reporter, Nic Lopez, captured footage of the scene located at 'Hammerstone's'on 9th and Russell,' where workers are currently cleaning the broken glass that would be burglars caused from the front door. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (who will both be 80) will play many of their old hits and famous songs as well as new stuff from “Hackney Diamonds.”Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Dec. 1, according to promoter AEG Presents. A driver is suspected of driving under the influence after crashing into a Los Angeles Police Department SUV and injuring two officers on the northbound 57 Freeway in Fullerton as a pursuit was taking place early Tuesday morning.The officers were in their patrol vehicle searching for evidence on the freeway when they were apparently rear-ended by the sedan around 2 a.m. Two officers were injured in a crash in Fullerton on Nov. 21, 2023. (OnScene.TV)The officers were taken to UCI Medical Center where they were visited by LAPD Chief Michel Moore. Moore said the two male officers suffered bumps and bruises, and the passenger had a laceration on his head. Both were expected to make a full recovery, Moore said. A woman driving the sedan that struck the officers also suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. Moore said she had been arrested on suspicion of DUI following the crash. One person was killed and several others hospitalized when a vehicle being chased by police crashed into another car and overturned in Buena Park Monday night.The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. at La Palma Avenue and Knott Avenue following a short pursuit near Knott's Berry Farm.The chase began when officers identified a stolen black sedan at a McDonald's restaurant on Beach Boulevard about a mile away. A witness said that police surrounded the sedan, which was in the drive-thru lane, but the driver went over a curb to get out of line. “The cop pit maneuvered his butt. Hit him in the back and he still kept going,” the witness identified as Stacy said.The pursuit ended when the car sped through the La Palma and Knott intersection and hit a white Mercedes-Benz. A large group of juveniles stole around $12,000 worth of products from a Nike store in a flash mob raid that was captured on video Sunday evening, authorities said. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the call regarding the retail theft came in shortly before 6 p.m. at the Nike Community Store located in the 9800 block of South Alameda Street. Initial reports indicated that ten to 15 youths had entered the business and taken multiple products, but that number was later increased to 17, LAPD confirmed. By Chris Boyette and Holly Yan | CNN From New Hampshire to Oregon, researchers are trying to figure out what’s causing an infectious respiratory disease among dogs that has turned deadly in rare cases.The mysterious illness is described as an “atypical canine infectious respiratory disease,” the Oregon Department of Agriculture said in a November 9 news release. Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, eye or nose discharge and lethargy.Veterinarians in Oregon have reported more than 200 cases of the disease since mid-August.
