Double homicide investigation underway in St. Paul

A double homicide investigation is underway Tuesday after a shooting on St. Paul’s Greater East Side.Investigators are working in and around an apartment building on the 1400 block of East Minnehaha Avenue between Birmingham and Barclay streets.Police did not immediately release more information about the circumstances and said they plan to later this morning.Twin Cities Academy, a charter school for grades 6-12 across from the apartment building, remained in session Tuesday.The school “became aware of an incident” across the street at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Facebook post from the school. NEW YORK (AP) — Expecting a tax refund? It could be smaller than last year. And with inflation still high, that money won't go as far as it did a year ago. The more than 100 million taxpayers who have had their returns processed as of April 7 got refunds that were an average of 9.3% less than last year, in part due to pandemic relief programs expiring.
