SAN DIEGO -- An iconic donut shop officially opened its doors Wednesday in San Diego with a glazed crazed crowd wrapping around the building in anticipation.Los Angeles-based Randy’s Donuts now has a storefront located at 3737 Murphy Canyon Rd. near Aero Drive, right off Interstate 15.The popular sweet shop was first founded in 1952 and is known for its giant 32-foot rooftop donut at the original location in Inglewood. The new San Diego space keeps that tradition alive with a special interior 3D Randy’s Donuts atop a mural of the San Diego skyline, including the Coronado Bridge. The first 50 people who entered the shop Wednesday and said the code phrase “I LOVE COFFEE” were rewarded with a custom Randy’s Donuts San Diego travel coffee mug. Customers can bring that mug back for a free drip coffee refill anytime through the end of 2023. (AP) — Republican state senators in Oregon didn’t show up to work on Wednesday, denying the Democrats who control the chamber a quorum and casting doubt on planned votes later this week on legislation pertaining to gun control, abortion rights and gender-affirming health care.The office of Democratic Senate President Rob Wagner said 10 Republican senators and the chamber’s lone independent were absent, and that four of the Republicans and the independent were absent without an excuse. The so-called walkout prevented the state Senate from having a quorum and holding its scheduled session. Iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot will be laid to rest in his hometown of Orillia, Ont., on Sunday, with the public invited to pay their respects to the music legend.Lightfoot died of natural causes Monday at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto at the age of 85.An obituary notice released on Wednesday states that he’s survived by his wife Kim Lightfoot, children Fred, Ingrid, Eric, Galen, Miles and Meredith, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sex offender fatally shot 6, then killed self, official says

OKMULGEE, Okla. — An Oklahoma sex offender shot six people in the head and then himself, an Oklahoma police chief Wednesday.Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice said that the victims all sustained between one and three wounds to the head. Gildan sees sales decline in first quarter, affirms full-year outlook
