With the Athletics’ proposed move to Las Vegas looming ever closer, the finger-pointing and animosity is only intensifying between Oakland officials and Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.In a story published Friday by the San Francisco Chronicle, Manfred said the account of events being put forth by Oakland mayor Sheng Thao is “all about covering your ass at this point.”Thao’s chief of staff, Leigh Hanson, replied: “We will leave it to the fans to decide who’s telling the truth, Mayor Thao or Manfred. A card associated with someone’s cremated remains was found in Marin during the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, according to the California Coastal Commission.The card identified the person as being from North Carolina, and organizers speculated the card may have ended up in Marin after the person’s ashes were spread along the California Coast.The cremation card was among the most unusual items found during the annual cleanup, which also included a small floppy disk. 15-year-old fatally shot in Brockton, 17-year-old arrested

Jason Green, 15, was shot and killed in Brockton on Friday, and a 17-year-old has been arrested on a firearm charge, according to Plymouth DA Tim Cruz.“(Massachusetts State Police) and (Brockton police) are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15 year-old male that occurred yesterday at 3:23 pm at 131 Lynn Road in Brockton,” Cruz said in a tweet Saturday. “A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm.”The victim was later identified as Jason Green.Green’s life was “cut short due to gun violence by someone he believed was his friend,” family and friends wrote in a GoFundMe page dedicated to funeral expenses.“Jason was an amazing, funny, smart, uplifting, pure and genuine young man,” the page states. “He was a great big brother to his baby brother. Juvenile ejected in I-8 crash; driver arrested for suspected DUI

SAN DIEGO -- A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash on Interstate 8 sent five juveniles to the hospital, authorities said. The incident, which involved one vehicle, occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday near the Qualcomm Way onramp, California Highway Patrol confirmed to FOX 5. Motorcyclist killed in SR-94 crash Authorities say one male juvenile ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Rady Children's Hospital with major injuries. Four other juveniles were also transported to the hospital with various injuries.
