Wednesday TV schedule: DIRECTV Holiday Bowl on FOX31 moves 'Wheel,' 'Jeopardy!'

DENVER (KDVR) — College football's bowl season has arrived, and that means changes to the TV schedule as FOX31 airs live games from Fox Sports.On Wednesday, Dec. 27, FOX31 will broadcast the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl with coverage starting at 5:30 p.m. and continuing to 9:30 p.m., followed by FOX31 News.The game features the Louisville Cardinals taking on the USC Trojans at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Thirty minutes of pregame coverage will lead into kickoff, which takes place at 6 p.m. MT.“Jeopardy!” at 6 p.m. and “Wheel of Fortune” at 6:30 p.m. will move to Channel 2 on Wednesday as a result.The programs will air in full as they normally would. The only change is they will move to KWGN for the episodes.

US delegation is meeting with Mexico’s government for talks on the surge of migrants at the border

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A top U.S. delegation is meeting with Mexico’s president Wednesday in what many see as an attempt to have Mexico do more to limit a surge of migrants reaching the U.S. southwestern border.Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has said he’s willing to help, but he wants to see progress in U.S. relations with Cuba and Venezuela, two of the top sources of migrants, along with more development aid for the region.“We have always talked about addressing the causes (of migration). The ideal thing is to help poor countries,” López Obrador said before the meeting.Both sides in the talks face pressure to reach an agreement after past steps like limiting direct travel into Mexico or deporting some migrants failed to stop the influx. 2 rescued after helicopter crashes in Southwest Miami-Dade canal

Two people have been rescued after the helicopter they were in crashed in a canal in Southwest Miami-Dade, Wednesday afternoon. The helicopter crashed near SW 187 Avenue and SW 122 Street, just after 1 p.m. Divers with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue went into the canal and were able to rescue two people. Both have been transported by ground to a local-area hospital. According to authorities, the helicopter took off from Fort Myers en route to Miami Executive Airport. Bayfront Park gearing up for New Year’s Eve celebrations

Chan School of Public Health published on Wednesday. The researchers say the findings show a need for government regulation of social media since the companies that stand to make money from children who use their platforms have failed to meaningfully self-regulate. Gaston Glock, the Austrian developer of the handgun that bears his name, died on Wednesday. He was 94.The Glock company announced his death, the Austria Press Agency reported. Glock, a reclusive engineer, founded the company in 1963 in Deutsch-Wagram, near Vienna. It has since expanded around the world, including a U.S. subsidiary founded in 1985.Glock handguns are used by police and some countries’ military forces, as well as private users.
