As the Lobster Sport mini-season approached, clouds, rain and lightning off Key Biscayne rained on boaters’ parades but the weather didn’t stop some families from bringing in a nice catch. “Plenty of rain plenty of storms, but we still got our lobsters so it’s a good day,” said Jason Chockley, who was out on his boat with his son Victor.Jason Chockley has been catching lobsters for 25 years and now his son is also learning the ropes.“He’s the spotter from above, and he runs back and forth between the boat, makes sure they’re all good in size and measurement,” said Jason. “It’s always a team effort.” Many others weren’t as lucky as the rain was relentless on Wednesday morning. “We tried but the visibility is really dark so we couldn’t see anything,” said Felix Cuevas, another boater out on the water. “So we’re trying to see if the rain goes out and then we’ll go back.R...Biden’s son Hunter pleads not guilty to 2 tax crimes after agreement with prosecutors falls through

(CNN) — When you think of Apple, it’s likely that what first springs to mind is a conveyor belt of revolutionary tech rather than a pair of sneakers. But a pair of “ultra-rare” Apple sneakers is now being sold by auctioneers Sotheby’s for $50,000, fetching a higher price tag than any current Apple product.Complete with the rainbow Apple logo on the tongue and side, the white trainers were custom-made for the company’s employees as a one-time giveaway at a National Sales Conference in the mid-1990s.“Having never reached the general public, this particular pair of sneakers is one of the most obscure in existence,” Sotheby’s said in its catalog.Although producing sneakers is unusual for Apple, in 1986 the tech brand released a range of clothing and accessories dubbed “The Apple Collection,” featuring mugs, umbrellas, bags, keyrings and even a sailboard, all emblazoned with the rainbow Apple logo, according to a catalog published that year. IRBIL, Iraq (AP) — Dozens of people protested in front of the Central Bank of Iraq in Baghdad and bank owners called for official action to stem a sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate Wednesday, after the United States blacklisted 14 Iraqi banks.Over the past two days, the market rate of the dollar jumped from 1,470 dinar per dollar to 1,570 dinar per dollar. The jump came after the U.S. listed 14 private Iraqi banks among banks that are banned from dealing with U.S. dollars due to suspicions of money laundering and funneling funds to Iran. The ban was imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on July 19. “The listing of almost one third of the private banks as banned from dealing with the U.S. dollar will have negative consequences from many perspectives,” Haidar al Shamaa, owner of a private bank in Baghdad said at a news conference Wednesday. He called on “the brothers at the ...Latest news
