Forced labor concerns prompt US lawmakers to demand ban on seafood from two Chinese provinces

WASHINGTON (AP) — A group of U.S. lawmakers wants the Biden administration to ban seafood processed in two Chinese provinces from entering the U.S. market because of concerns about rights abuses. They also say that Chinese facilities using forced labor should be banned from doing business with American companies.The request was sent Tuesday by the chairs of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China to the Department of Homeland Security. Aurora ranks as deadliest DUI city in Colorado so far this year

DENVER (KDVR) -- Out of all the cities in Colorado, Aurora ranks the highest in impaired-related car accident deaths.The Colorado Department of Transportation recorded the number of people killed in impaired-related accidents this year. From the start of the year up to early October, Aurora ranks significantly higher than any other city in the entire state of Colorado. DENVER (KDVR) — After a bye week, the University of Colorado Buffaloes are gearing up to face the UCLA Bruins on Saturday. The last time the Buffs were on the field was a game worth forgetting. On Oct. 13, Deion Sanders and his Buffaloes faced Stanford in what should have been a win for CU. But Friday the 13th got the best of them. Police investigating after gun found inside classroom at SW Miami-Dade school

Miami-Dade Police are investigating after they said an employee left a gun inside a bag in a classroom at a school in Kendall. The incident occurred at Atlantis Academy, a private school, located at 9600 SW 107th Ave.According to police, around 11:55 a.m., Tuesday, another staff member discovered the firearm and reported it.As of now, it remains unclear whether the employee will be arrested, and authorities have yet to confirm whether the gun was loaded.According to Atlantis Academy’s website, the school is a “K-12 private school, educating students with learning differences and various abilities in greater Miami, Florida.” Please check back on WSVN.com and 7News for more details on this developing story.

High-speed DUI stop ends in violent confrontation, woman’s arrest in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WSVN) — An alleged drunk driver’s attempt to evade a speeding ticket resulted in a high-speed chase, violent confrontation, and ultimately, a one-way trip to jail.The incident began when a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper clocked a Mercedes speeding at an astonishing 120 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone while crossing the Gandy Bridge in St. Petersburg. The trooper then initiated a traffic stop.Upon approaching the driver, 31-year-old Brittany Bianchi, the trooper detected a strong odor of alcohol and noted slurred speech. The situation escalated when the trooper attempted to arrest her for DUI. Bianchi objected, insisting she had “zero reasons to perform any sobriety” and argued against being arrested for speeding. “You’re not arresting me for speeding.
