Charges pending in fatal stabbing of 16-year-old girl in Loop CHICAGO — Charges are pending in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old girl in the Loop.According to Chicago police, the stabbing happened on the 0-100 block of West Van Buren Street just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.Police said Taylor was in a physical altercation with another woman, who then took out a knife and stabbed Taylor twice in the chest — then fled the scene.Heaven Taylor, 16 (Family photo)Taylor was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.  16-year-old girl stabbed to death following altercation in Loop According to police, charges are pending.Editor's Note: Chicago police had announced charges in the fatal stabbing of Heaven Taylor early Thursday, but later retracted the information and said it was "disseminated in error."

17-year-old boy shot and killed in Round Lake Beach ID'd ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. — A 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Round Lake Wednesday night, police said has been identified.Lake County Coroner's office identified the victim as Chad Greenwald from Fox Lake. According to police, officers were searching for a phone that dialed 911said around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday night and located a car at a gas station near the area of Cedar Lake and Rollins Road that appeared to be damaged by gunfire.Greenwald was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and he transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was pronounced dead. Leonardo Franco Delgado was riding a motor scooter in the Logan Square area when he was hit by a silver Honda that allegedly ran a red light. 17-year-old boy shot and killed in Round Lake Beach Police said the vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound on Fullerton Avenue at Pulaski Road.The Go-Fund-Me page was created by Jaidet Rueda, the sister of the victim. In the post, Rueda is asking for support in paying for therapy and other expenses for her sister-in-law and nephews after losing their father. 18-year-old woman dead, another critical following head-on crash in Homer Glen HOMER GLEN, Ill. — An 18-year-old died late Wednesday night and a woman is in critical condition following a head-on crash in Homer Glen.Officers responded to a report of a three-vehicle crash just after 11:40 p.m. in the 17000 block of South Cedar Road. The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for more than five hours due to the crash.
