Colorado funeral home owner, wife linked to handling of 190 bodies arrested in Oklahoma

The owners of the Penrose funeral home where authorities found the decaying remains of 190 people, 80 of whom are still unidentified, are now in custody, officials in El Paso and Fremont counties announced Wednesday in a news conference.Jon and Carie Hallford were arrested Wednesday in Wagoner, Oklahoma, on charges of abuse of a corpse, forgery, theft and money laundering, the attorney’s office said in a news release. The probable cause affidavit for the arrests is sealed, 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael J. Allen said in the news conference.Their bonds are set at $2 million.“I am relieved that criminal charges have been brought against the funeral home owner and a criminal investigation is proceeding,” Gov. Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly physically assaulted and murdered a 59-year-old male. LAPD patrol officers responded to a battery report at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Kingsley Drive in Koreatown on Oct. 30. An initial investigation revealed that the suspect physically assaulted the victim until witnesses intervened. 26-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Crash near Everglade TrailYUBA COUNTY, CA (November 8, 2023) – One man died early Monday was killed in a head-on crash on Marysville Road around 3:43 a.m.The incident occurred near the Everglade Trail in Yuba County.
