Column: Getting to the majors is tough for LIV Golf players. Making the Olympics is even harder Eighteen players from LIV Golf competed in the Masters, a number that already has been cut in half for next year. Only past Masters champions and recent major champions are currently eligible. Everyone else is well out of the top 50 in the world.It figures to be like that at the other majors, too. When the Official World Golf Ranking committee rejected LIV’s application, it made it tough for them to get into the majors.Overlooked in the reaction to the OWGR’s decision was another major event. It’s going to be even tougher for LIV players to get into the Olympics next year in Paris.The Olympic Golf Ranking for the 2024 Games began June 13, 2022, two days after LIV Golf finished its inaugural event outside London.LIV players can argue with anyone willing to listen that the world ranking no longer has credibility without them. Coke raises full-year sales forecast after stronger-than-expected 3rd quarter Coca-Cola raised its full-year revenue forecast Tuesday after a stronger-than-expected third quarter.Atlanta-based Coke said it now expects its organic revenue will be up 10% to 11% for the year. That’s up from the 8% to 9% guidance Coke announced at the end of the second quarter. Coke expects earnings __ adjusted for currency variations __ will grow 13% to 14%, up from a previous forecast of 9% to 11%.Coke’s shares rose 3% in morning trading Tuesday.Coke said its global case volumes rose 2% for the July-September period. State police: Drunk man filed missing child report, but just left the child at home  MANSFIELD, Connecticut (WFSB) — A man who filed a missing child report with state police was arrested after troopers determined that he was drunk and actually just left the child at home.Colby Parker, 30, was charged with driving under the influence, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a child, and second-degree breach of peace.Troopers said they responded to a Price Chopper store on Storrs Road around 8:15 p.m. on Monday for the missing child report.Parker told state police that he went into the store and left the child in his vehicle. He claimed that when he returned to his vehicle, the child wasn’t there.That led to a search by Price Chopper employees, troopers, and members of the University of Connecticut and Coventry police departments.
