A heatwave is set to blanket Southern California starting on Monday, and while KTLA 5 meteorologist Kacey Montoya normally informs the region of the forecast, a special guest appeared on the KTLA 5 Weekend Morning News to let SoCal know that it’s going to get hot. “Night School” star and legendary comedian Tiffany Haddish, who joined KTLA to announce the winner of KTLA’s "A Summer of Funny" series, mentioned to the anchors that while she has always wanted to do the weather on the news, no one had ever given her the chance. That all changed on Saturday. With a few tips from Kacey, Tiffany Haddish successfully informed the region of the upcoming forecast. “Just know this,” Haddish said. “In the valleys, the wind will be blowing strong, so tape your wig down. Hunker down, because it will fly off.” Communities along the coast will be slightly cooler, according to “meteorologist” Tiffany Haddish. “The coastal areas will [experience] very moderate temperatures,” she said. “It’s ...3 Uber passengers dead; driver, other passenger in critical condition after violent car crash in South L.A.

LONDON (AP) — Manchester United suffered its worst-ever start to an English Premier League game and still managed to win. Arsenal gave away a goal after less than a minute and couldn’t quite pull off a similar comeback.United bounced back from conceding two goals in the opening four minutes to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday and avoid an early inquest following a dispiriting loss at Tottenham last weekend. Arsenal also thought it turned the game around against Fulham when led 2-1 in the second half, only to concede an 87th-minute equalizer from a corner for a 2-2 draw at Emirates Stadium that ended the Gunners’ perfect start to the campaign. For United, it was the first time the club trailed by two goals after four minutes in the league, but captain Bruno Fernandes completed the comeback from the penalty spot in the 76th minute after Forest went down to 10 men. “Horror start,” United manager Erik ten Hag said. “But the character of the team w...The Ally Challenge Par Scores

Published Tue, 05 Nov 2024 10:48:42 GMT
The last military installation in Virginia named after a Confederate soldier has been officially renamed from Fort A.P. Hill to Fort Walker in honor of Doctor Mary E. Walker. The redesignation ceremony was held as the U.S. celebrates Women’s Equality Day. Major General Trevor Bredenkamp says Mary Walker served the Army with distinction.“The first woman surgeon in the United States Army, a prisoner of war and the only woman awarded the medal of honor,” Bredenkamp said. “What a fitting tribute that today we designate this installation Fort Walker, the only installation in the Army to be named solely for a woman.” Walker, who was a civilian, treated wounded Union soldiers at field hospitals throughout the Civil War, even though her application to be an official Army surgeon was denied because she was a woman.Bredenkamp said that Virginia has now renamed all of its military installations named for Confederate soldiers.Secretary of Defense Lloyd J.
