Toronto police are investigating after a man was stabbed in downtown Toronto on Monday morning.Police were called to the area of Dundas Street East and Regent Street, just east of Parliament Street, around 9:20 a.m. for reports that someone had been stabbed.A man was found at the scene with stab wounds. THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The International Criminal Court prosecutor’s office announced Monday it is halting its long-running investigation into deadly violence that broke out in Kenya after the African nation’s 2007 presidential election.The decision was announced at a time when the prosecutor’s office is appealing for extra resources as it investigates ongoing conflicts including the war in Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas war.The Kenya investigation that opened in 2010 led to charges against six suspects, including the country’s current and former presidents, but ultimately did not yield any successful prosecutions, amid claims of witness intimidation and political interference. LONDON (AP) — Britain’s government reached a deal with senior doctors in England that could potentially end a series of disruptive strikes, officials said Monday. The Department of Health and Social Care said it submitted a pay offer to doctors’ unions after weeks of talks, and union leaders agreed to put the proposal to their members for a vote. Suncor restarts production at Terra Nova after work to extend life of project

Off-duty Chicago officer killed in Oak Lawn crash

CHICAGO — An off-duty Chicago police officer was killed in a crash in Oak Lawn Sunday morning.The Cook County Medical Examiner has identified the officer as 35-year-old Edwin Espinoza.The accident happened around 8 a.m. near 95th Street and Harlem Avenue after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Espinoza was a probationary officer with one-year on the job. CHICAGO — The University of Chicago issued an alert following an armed robbery near campus Sunday.At around 2:35 p.m., two people were on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of East 54th Street when a grey Jeep Cherokee approached.
